That’s why I’m not surprised the second annual Experiential Yachting Forum that took place in Dubai recently was such a success. It was specifically designed to highlight how the experience of yachting can make a positive difference in the world and featured sponsors such as Oceanco, Sunreef Yachts, Four Seasons Yachts, Space Perspective and Islamic Coin that want to do the same. “This forum was created with a mission to elevate human potential through yachting and to change the perception of yachting by identifying a new niche for multifunctional superyachts and introduce the concept of ‘holistic yachting’ for healthier yachting operations and lifestyle.” says Experiential Yachting Forum founder Maria Alekseenko Magan.
“Questioning the purpose of using a yacht creates a business growth opportunity for each of us, brokers, shipyards, designers, other yachting professionals,” Magan says. “And not only that – our industry can become a provider for other industries to expand from land to sea. Yachting,” she emphasises, “can play a more important role in our world than just providing jobs and pushing hard for environmentally responsible technology.”

First Experiential Yachting Forum challenges superyacht norms. The inaugural Experiential Yachting Forum, held at the Yacht Club de Monaco last week (April 21), invited participants to focus on the idea that “yachting is more than just the yacht”.
Bill Springer: So, I was excited when I first heard about the inaugural Experiential Yachting Forum that was designed to change the perception of yachting by showing how yachting can help make a difference to the world and to people’s lives in areas such ocean and human health, marine science, neuroscience, and philosophy as well as non-traditional areas such as the metaverse, NFT’s and artificial intelligence and virtual reality. And I was even more impressed when I attended the virtually attended the forum that was founded by Monaco-based yachting entrepreneur Maria Alekseenko Magan.
Martin Redmayne, chairman of The Superyacht Group and co-moderator at the Experiential Yachting Forum said, “With 5,500 plus superyachts over 30m being owned by less than 4,000 UHNWI’s globally, and bearing in mind some of this fleet is worth less than 1 million euros - we have huge potential for growth by showing over 300,000 ‘non-yacht owners’ that yacht ownership can have more purpose, deliver better value and provide more interesting experiences!”
Magan continues,“And where yachting can be considered as an investment through the philosophy that experience is a new type of asset and a yacht can be used as a floating establishment for community workspaces, retirement homes, experiential learning or research, for medical purposes or rehabilitation, social needs or exclusive commerce.”

The World’s First Hybrid International Forum Dedicated to Experiential Yachting
Experience Economy is rapidly representing a large part of the yachting industry where the effect of its goods and services on people's lives is emphasised with purpose and additional value.
An increasing number of yacht owners are commissioning vessels that are destined beyond the boundaries of conventional yachting use. But such an approach requires specialist knowledge and expertise in the fields of Ocean and Human Health, Marine Science, Neuroscience, Philosophy, Metaverse, AI & VR Technology and more.
For the first time therefore, the world’s experts in experiential, such as yachting professionals, experience providers, owners, owner representatives and captains are coming together, both on-site in Monaco, and worldwide, virtually, on April 21st 2022 for a one-day forum to (e-)meet, discuss and share their experiences in this new and exciting area.
In light of the current worldwide events, if required, the topics, input and content will be adjusted to remain relevant and bring value out of respect of the situation.
